Metal beds and components for the furniture industry...
As with all of the areas we provide for, the furniture trade is among one of them. Manufacturing components for metal beds, tables, chairs and the like are something that Winward excell at. We use many of our in-house fascilities for the funiture trade. Using our extensive assembly lines we can then assemble, pack and palletise ready for despatch the complete item to customers requirements.

Up to date welding booths aid us in the swift manufacture of any fabricated item.

All repetetive/production parts undergo a complete jigging and tooling excersise. All of our tooling and jigging for the bed trade is manufactured in house using traditional methods. This and always has enabled us to adhere to tight delivery times and quick turn around projects where required.

We regularly update old methods to stay ahead of the competition.

   

From the raw material we can spin , press, shear, polish, sateen, laser cut parts then either antique, verdi gris or powder coat them as shown.

For raw metals, the process begins with a 4-Stage Spray Phosphate Power Wash complete with a De-Ionized water final rinse. The complete system is Statistically Process Controlled (SPC) for Chemical Concentration, Total Dissolved Solids, Solution Temperature and pH balance.

   

Winward undertake Fabrication on a daily basis in many different forms. We supply many different sectors of industry with both completed parts and also carry out specific operations to components.

On the left is one of the in-line baking ovens for thecoating line. Parts are hung on metal hooks to pass through the degreasing and powder coating lines. This is to ensure the electrostatic particles adhere to the desired surface and produce an even finish as required.

   
Complete beds, headboards and parts are manufactured to our customers own designs from repetition to one off bespoke items. We use either RAL or PANTONE references for the desired poder coated colour match. ALL IN HOUSE>>>>>>...We crop the tube to desired lengths, weld in our up to date booths with 100% quality checking. All items then move on to our fully automatic de-greasing line. The degreased part then moves on a 2 part wash and dry system with temperatures up to 200 degrees to ensure part is completely ready for powder coating and free from particles that can contaminate the desired finish.

Parts and componentry in various metals are also available. Featured left are a few examples of bed knobs that are supplied to various manufacturies. Available in almost any material. Solid Brass (polished, sateened, brushed or natural), stainless steel, mild steel, powder coated, galvanised, chrome plated etc..
Examples of headboards and bedsteads that we manufacture completely in-house. We cut the tube, laser cut panels where applicable, spin the balls and press caps for bedknobs. We then jig and weld tubing, pre-treat, powder coat and pack finished products.
